Integration Course with Child Plus: Perspective through Qualification
With the ESF Plus programme "Integration Course with Child Plus: Perspective through Qualification", the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women, and Youth and the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Community have further developed the accompanying child supervision for integration courses.
Within the framework of the ESF Plus programme, providers can offer child supervision during integration courses that is supplementary to the regular childcare system and in close proximity to the integration course venue. These offers can be used when regular childcare services cannot be accessed and the children requiring supervision are not yet of school age. They enable parents to participate in an integration course and thus promote their integration.
Considering their bridging function, these supervision offers additionally prepare children and families for transition into a regular childcare service. In particular, these offers can attract interested individuals (e.g. graduates of integration courses) who, subsidised by the programme and in accordance with applicable state regulations, qualify for work in child-minding services.
Moreover, mandatory online training sessions are provided as self-study units, which, on the one hand, impart basic knowledge to pedagogically unqualified individuals, and on the other hand, address the specific requirements of child supervision accompanying integration courses (e.g. dealing with children with a refugee background, linguistic diversity). The programme lays the foundation for future work in the field of childcare provision and thus attracts potential professionals.
"Integration Course with Child Plus: Perspective through Qualification" is the successor programme of the federal programme "Integration Course with Child: Building Blocks for the Future".
