Strengthening the participation of older people - countering loneliness and social isolation
The ESF Plus programme is primarily aimed at workers aged 60 and over who are at risk of or affected by exclusion from the labour market. This can also include people who are already receiving basic security benefits in line with Book XII of the Social Code, women who want to return to work after having family care responsibilities or employees with a migration background.
The programme aims to prevent and combat involuntary loneliness and social isolation, increase financial security in old age and support community participatory structures for older people.
Funding is provided for socially innovative projects with new ideas and schemes to achieve these goals.
The funding aims to help improve the income and living situation of older employees, both during their active working life and in the post-working phase, and to increase the social participation of older people.
