Micro-Mezzanine Fund Germany III
Many people wishing to set up new businesses and small enterprises do not have access to finance because they lack equity capital or equity-style funds, and banks, including financing institutes, do not provide funding in light of high fixed administrative costs and significant risks of default.
The Micro-Mezzanine Fund Germany aims to strengthen the equity capital basis of small businesses and micro-enterprises and thus to facilitate their access to additional financing. For this purpose, the provision of small-scale mezzanine financing is to be expanded throughout Germany.
Mezzanine financing totalling up to €100,000 can be provided to small enterprises. Where these enterprises are particularly worth financing and meet specific target group criteria (businesses run by people with a migrant background in the first or second generation; enterprises whose management includes women at the time of the authorisation; businesses set up by unemployed people; non-profit enterprises and ecologically sustainable businesses), they can receive mezzanine financing totalling up to €150,000. In each case, the period of the loan is up to 10 years.
Micro-Mezzanine Fund Germany III is the successor programme to Micro-Mezzanine Fund Germany II of the ESF funding period 2014-2020.
