Akti(F) - Active for families and their children
The Akti(F) programme aimed to improve the living conditions of families at risk of exclusion and poverty and increase their social participation. The measures were aimed both at parents and their children and, if necessary, at other adult household members as far as their role is relevant in relation to the above-mentioned objectives (e.g. life partners):
- Families with children under the age of 18 who received benefits in accordance with the Second Book of the German Social Code or the Twelfth Book of the German Social Code (also supplementary, so-called top-up benefits)
- Parents who received or were entitled to a supplementary child allowance
- These might include single parents and parents or disabilities (potentially, also with full or partial reduced earning capacity)
They received support in starting adequately remunerated employment and in finding available local and regional aid, including social benefits. In addition, the pilot projects aimed to make a structural contribution to improving cooperation where people need it across legal divides.
